About Our Client
Our client is a Series B fintech-infrastructure company, backed by tier-one venture investors and led by a founding team with prior exits in payments and financial services. Their platform powers payments, ledgering and money movement for thousands of businesses, and volumes have been growing quickly across multiple markets. The engineering culture is genuinely strong — small autonomous teams, high ownership, a bias to ship and a serious commitment to reliability and security. Having recently closed a significant funding round, they are investing heavily in the core platform and the team behind it. The company is kept confidential at this stage; full details, including the client name, are shared with shortlisted candidates.
Job Description
Our client is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to build and scale the systems behind their core product at a well-funded London fintech. This is a role for an engineer who wants real ownership and the chance to raise the bar around them.

- Own reliability, performance and quality for the features you ship
- Contribute to architecture and key technical decisions as the platform grows
- Work with cloud infrastructure (AWS or GCP) and modern tooling
- Model data thoughtfully and ensure correctness in critical flows
- Write clean, well-tested, maintainable code
- Review code and mentor other engineers, raising the engineering bar
- Collaborate closely with product, design and other engineers
- Investigate and resolve production issues and invest in prevention
The Successful Applicant

- 5+ years building production software
- Strong proficiency in one of TypeScript, Python, Go or Java
- Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS or GCP)
- Solid understanding of APIs, databases and system design
- A track record of shipping well-tested, maintainable code
- Good collaboration and communication skills
- Fintech or regulated-industry experience is welcome
- Interest in mentoring and raising standards
